Relieving Energy Poverty
A household is considered energy poor if they are spending more than 10% of their income on energy or fuel.
Despite its prevalence, Australia has not formally recognised energy poverty as a problem distinct from general poverty at the federal level, which limits effective responses.
Who is considered energy poor?
Individuals, households, or communities that are unable to access and afford adequate energy/fuel for basic necessities of life, such as heating, cooling and essential transport.
Families that have to choose between buying groceries or paying rent and heating their homes.
The direct consequences of energy poverty are an increase in health expenditure and a gradual decrease in labour productivity in the long run.
To help Australians who are energy poor, Ruckus Energy Co. will provide a one-year FREE membership for the Ruckus app.
Through the Ruckus app, households can get fuel at discounted prices.

Here’s what our members have saved on fuel, based on our average prices this year.*
*We calculate our saving by comparing our price for each transaction with the average in the local area. Saving varies by site and fuel grade. Check out the latest price in the Ruckus app. Past performance is not an indicator of future results.
